ABOUT THE PROJECT
This bathroom had been renovated 15 years ago and was looking tired. It needed some modernising and but with a flair.
The home was in neutral greys and whites, so it was decided to continue with the theme and add a navy blue accent. A blue, grey and white mosaic tile from Tile Depot was used as a feature wall in the walk-in shower and a double draw navy vanity with a white stone top made by The kitchen & Cabinet house, keeping the neutral tiles on the floor and walls.
A Caroma inwall toilet suite was installed to replace the original back-to-wall toilet. We did this to create the ease of cleaning and give the illusion of more space in a small ensuite.
The Nutech1m x1m LED demister mirror was used to create the illusion of more space on the back wall and give the bathroom a lightness and the functionality of a demister mirror.
All the tap wear, including the digital shower, are in gunmetal and are from Felton. The thermostatic digital mixer is designed to maintain constant shower pressure and temperature, making for a safer shower, especially for children. Other features are a maximum run time and soft cleaning mode. In addition, two Felton gun metal slide rails were installed at each end of the shower so that two people could shower simultaneously.
The basin mixers are from the Felton Tate range and are wall-mounted. This tapware is effortless cleaning and looks smart, modern and functional.
Totally Glass custom made the sliding soft close shower door and added the clear shield to protect the glass from shampoo and soap, which often leaves it milky or cloudy. This is a unique resin that is transparent and bonds to the glass and prevents contaminants from bonding to the surface, and makes it very easy to rinse off after each time the shower is used.
Overall we love the new look ensuite that has created a light, modern and smart bathroom that has not only added value to the house but has given the new owners a lovely space off their bedroom.
